Stepping Out of Fear
May 25, 2020
This has been a disruptive time for everyone
,
forcing us to step out of the “busyness” of our lives and be with ourselves. For some, this has been an extremely stressful and difficult transition. Keeping busy had allowed some of us to not have to look at what was happening in our life, to avoid feeling, or suppressing emotions such as fear, sadness, anger, anxiety or disappointment, just to name a few. Now that the haven of “busyness” has been denied them, they may be using the energy of fear or anger to take its place.
Fear can be so exhausting for our spirit, our body and our ability to function. With this self-isolation,
we have been given the opportunity to look at those emotions that have been suppressed, step out of the story we tell ourselves of who did what to whom, examine them without attachment, and release them. Carrying around those stories is not allowing us to move on and past those feeling.
Ask yourself, “Do those feelings serve a purpose in my life today?” Likely not.
So why do we continue to hold so tightly to those emotions or stories when they no longer serve us. There may have been a positive lesson in the story. Take that nugget out, and let the rest go. You will feel so much lighter.

When you live in story, you are giving your personal power away, whether it is to the memory of what that story made you feel, or how you still hold anger and resentment towards another person, with the “they said … you said …”. Is it really the other person or is it that they provided a mirror of self-reflection of something within you that you are unhappy about. There are lessons you can learn when you let go of the story.
During this time of global pause, we are being given the space and the time to heal, to grow, to connect to our inner power.
Who we were in those stories does not mean that’s who we a
re today. We are adaptable.
We have the ability, if we choose, to change, to evolve and expand. Take advantage of this self-isolation to go within, release that which no longer serves you, find your inner power, your inner strength, and you will find security and safety within yourself.

I received a beautiful email from Alexander Wilson, titled “4 Ways to Stay Grounded during a Pandemic”. The tools he gives would also be extremely helpful in reviewing and releasing those emotions that no longer serve.
The first way he recommends is to “Ground yourself and connect to the Earth”, sitting quietly and allowing the silence and stillness to ground you, connect you to the earth, and if possible, to do this outside, on the grass or close to a tree. This will help balance your Root chakra, which is located at the base of your spine. This will assist you in being in a state of calm, feeling safe and secure, which in turn, helps your mental, emotional and physical health, and strengthening our immune systems.
The second way is to send a healing prayer to the earth. By sending love and healing prayers to our global community, it is shifting your energy from fear towards positivism and compassion for others. It is a simple, easy practice. Just sit quietly and send loving thoughts to all the parts of the earth that need it. Or you can begin by sending love and healing prayers to the children and animals first, and see them gratefully receiving the love and healing energy they need.
The third way is to express yourself and release fear. When feeling anxious or fearful,
instead of holding it in, or pushing it away, release it by writing in a journal, painting, sketching, playing an instrument, or doing a quick, high energy dance. Anything that helps you shift your energy.

The fourth way that he recommends is the connect with your breath. When our breath is shallow, we are keeping our body in a state of fight or flight. And this eventually takes its toll on our sympathetic nervous system, as it is in a state of constant readiness.
When you connect with your breath and focus on taking slow deep breaths in through your nose, down to your abdomen and then slowly exhale, you will feel a sense of calm wash over you, and help you to ground. Let your exhale be almost twice as long as your inhale.

From this place of calm, you can see the events going on around you with more detachment, and will be able to connect with the stillness within you.
These tools will help you when doing self-reflection to keep some detachment when looking at those pieces and not go into story. It will also make it easier to release those emotions, as you will be releasing them from a place of inner strength. You may thank them for their service at that time when you first felt them, and acknowledge that they no longer have a place in your life, and that you are releasing them into the fire, or into a volcano, or back into the Earth, to be transformed into a positive energy.
With the social distancing placing restrictions on doing in-person reiki and shamanic reiki treatments, I am now offering online distance sessions. Visit my booking page

Does abundance seem like a goal that always seems to be just out of reach? Do you believe that life is hard and abundance is always for the other person? Or do you hold another belief that is keeping you from having the abundance that you deserve? There are those to whom abundance just seems to flow to them.I know that for many, they worked very hard to get to where they have abundance flowing in. However, it seems that they also have an expectation that abundance i [...]

Emotions are energy that can be experienced as positive or negative depending what is happening in your reality in the moment. Renewing our energy is like an energetic toxic release for the body. When we do Self-Healing Reiki practice or even when we do meditation those energy particles leave our energy field and create room for more positive energy. That positive energy comes through the Reiki symbols which make it muc [...]

We have the gifts to create a peaceful worldWe live in a time where we can sense, feel and know more than ever the energy around us. Those who are now being attuned to Reiki have an amazing ability of already sensing the energy in and around them. Their journey started with a calling to simply have a desire to understand why they felt an energy that they can’t explain and now they are on a quest to improve, heal [...]
